About the book: Love, self-discovery & unexpectedly intense
"Seventeen years. Without me. With you." is my fourth novel, which I am publishing under the name AD WiLK. When I started writing this book, I was afraid that it might be too banal. That the story might be too similar to other romance novels. I wanted to write a book that would touch us. You as a reader and me as an author.
And when I first started writing, I wasn't sure how this was going to happen. Of course, I knew the story before I started writing it. At least I thought so. In fact, none of my books to date has developed as differently as this one. And not because I was looking for things that would make the story deeper. No, the words jumped out of my fingers after a few chapters and only then did the book really take shape. I'm still overwhelmed by how intense this novel has become. And I'm incredibly excited to see whether Piya's story makes you think as much as it did me.
